Purely Punk

Punk personifies more than just a musical genre—it embodies a way of life and at times a self-indulgent almost reckless mentality when it comes to anarchism, ‘riot gear’ and mosh pits. In dark alleys and dimly lit stages punk was born during the mid seventies with bands such as: Patti Smith, Sex Pistols, The Ramones and The Stooges—to name a few—taking center stage to play searing guitar riffs and high-octane vocals that resonated with lost youths looking for a movement to join. Punk’s heyday may be gone in one aspect or another but the millennial generation is proving otherwise by playing underground shows in both Los Angeles and New York City.
